Based on practical observation: This student DVD is based upon Missy's 18 years of teaching off and on at community colleges and workshops around the country. When asked to teach fingerspelling a few years ago at the last minute she said, "Sure." Then she was underwhelmed with the materials the teacher who was supposed to teach the course provided. That was the moment when she decided to produce a better curriculum. Since she is one of the signers for Signing Naturally III, she had seen studio productions and knew she could modernize the existing video based products on the market. Also her classroom experience of listening to students comment about old videos with outdated fashions always bothered her. She knew that the students were not paying full attention to the content. Excellent for student or interpreter self study or as part of a formal class, this DVD is the companion to the 16 week Teacher's Guide. With this DVD you will learn to acquire fingerspelled words and express yourself in context through short stories and anecdotes.
