Beginning Fingerspelling:
We are currently scripting a Fingerspelling Primer curriculum that extends our fingerspelling product line to beginning fingerspelling students. The primer follows our "Whole Language" philosophy that emphasizes learning to fingerspell by acquiring and expressing fingerspelled words in context. The curriculum is entirely DVD based and all of the learning takes place by watching video or practicing fingerspelling in context. Our signers and stories for this DVD are taken from 3 different age groups. 8 years old, 17 years old, mid thirties and 40 years old. This cross section of age groups and represented stories will begin to prepare students for interpreting across the community. We will use the same successful format that our other fingerspelling products use. Expect to see colorful backgrounds that relate to the stories signed and keep the DVD visually stimulating.
